Project with A1 Telekom Austria: New Mobile Technologies in the Health Sector
The use of mobile technologies in the health sector can lead to a more efficient process management, an increase of medical treatment quality, process and cost optimization as well as to a growth of the service character.
The objective of the project was to analyze how these advantages offered by a new concept of A1 Telekom Austria could be ensured from the viewpoints of the affected shareholders, nursing staff and doctors.
The state-of-the-art work processes and associated opmitization suggestions in situations such as the doctor's ward round, care visit, patient admittance, preparation and postprocessing of surgeries including informative conversations, and meal orders were investigated.
The main content of the analysis was the acceptance of the product's individual features as well as name suggestions for the product in the target groups nursing staff and doctors. The pro and con arguments were identified and the following questions answered: Which features are accepted or are seen as a support? What are the advantages and disadvantages considering the current hospital information system? Is the use of the product perceived as a relief or another burden for the doctors and/or the nursing staff? In which tasks of their daily work do the respondents believe the system to be supportive?
