Presentation on the Digital Agenda for the Danube Region

ALADIN (ALpe Adria Danube universities INitiative), a network of 18 universities and associated Living Labs, developed a position paper (Link einfügen und PDF uploaden) for the current consultation process of formulating the EU Strategy for the Danube Region.

From 19.-21. April an international conference  on this topic was held in Vienna and Bratislava, in which high-ranking representatives of the European Commission (in front of all Johannes Hahn, Commissioner for Regional Policy) and countries in the region participated. In the course of this conference Christian Kittl, evolaris Mobile Living Lab, representing the ALADIN network, presented the position paper by invitation from Colin Wolfe, Head of Unit, European Commission, Regional Policy Directorate-General. Central message of the presentation was to prominently include ICT (information and communication technologies) as well as Open Innovation approaches in the form of the Living Lab concept and methodology in the EU Strategy for the Danube Region: “The Danube Region as the Living Lab for economic and social innovation.”
