Implementation of new authorisations and roles

The platform includes a concept of authorisations and roles that enables gradual access permission concerning certain functionalities. These access permissions can be assigned to single users or whole user groups by using roles that are flexibly configurable.

In the course of the project for the implementation of new authorisations and roles the existing technical access authorisations within the platform were analysed and the starting point for future authorisation and role distribution was derived from that. All single functions that could be deactivated only together with other functions are now provided with individual authorisation that can be assigned for single users as well as for whole user groups independently from each other within the logical role classification. We paid attention to the fact that effective access permissions for existing users do not change and a gradual transfer towards the new administration of authorization and roles is conducted.

In future it will be possible to define new logical user roles within the platform’s administrator surface based on the now existing independent single authorisations that allow combinations of platform functionalities which were not possible in the past, for example to provide a customized view of the administrator surface for each user.
