19 June 2015

The consumer application ecoGator just won this year’s European Sustainable Energy Award (EUSEW). ecoGator supports customers in finding energy efficient household appliances.

Europe’s most remarkable environmental award was presented in Brussels on 16 June. A total of 373 eligible entries has been received by the EUSEW Secretariat to compete in the 10th edition of the EUSEW Awards. ecoGator was selected as the winning project for the EUSEW 15 award in the category “Energy Efficiency”.

In the course of the project evolaris was responsible for conducting the requirements analysis and the conception of the app, the overall international project was led by the Austrian Energy Agency.

The importance of consumer centred projects of this kind was underlined by Miguel Arias Cañete, EU Commissioner for Climate and Energy, during the award ceremony: “An increasing number of consumers wants to clearly know what kind of product they are purchasing, where the product was produced, know the materials it is composed of and if it’s reasonable for them and the planet. We need to support them in making sustainable environmental choices.” That’s exactly what ecoGator offers to its users.
