AVL Webportal

After the conclusion of the requirements analysis and system evaluation in the pre-project, the realization of an innovative web portal for AVL was started.

The most important project task was replacing the old system by the new portal in the areas internet and extranet with the portal acting as the central communication platform for customers and stakeholders. The external appearance of AVL was harmonized.

The technologies selected are standardized and future-proof systems. They are also the basis for the implementation of new features in the integration and use of Social Media on mobile devices. By using Open Source frameworks, costs could be reducted in comparison to the old system.
To fulfill AVL's high security demand, a great focus was laid on testing the application in a security audit. Furthermore, seperate concepts for the data exchange between intranet and the DMZ were necessary.
The project scope included devising the server architecture, defining the requirement specifications, drafting a graphic design, developing and testing the software, and connecting it to third-party sytems.
